The Thousand-Mile Walker

Thousands miles he passed over Under the heat of summer The heavy rain shower The hail and the snow of winter The walker moved forward! Far beyond the horizon was his goal The thunderstorms shook the soul Shirts and pants plenty of holes Both feet ruined the boot’s sole The bleed could not stop his toll The walker moved forward! Then he met an ocean He looked over without emotion The empty beach, the furious wave Challenged the brave. Saw the goal through the sunray Expected the final at far away He decided to move on to find Far in sight… but close in mind!
