The Thornbush Incident

My infancy was plagued with several accidents From the pain of broken bones to the woes of tonsillitis My vivid childhood could have easily been forgotten But how can one forget the illustrious thornbush incident On a sunny Queensland afternoon The Brisbane hot sun oozed unforgiveness As it's rays scorched my inexperienced scalp However, one would not predict the horror to come Playing aimlessly in the garden I enthusiastically chased man's best friend But this frivolous chase led to my own undoing A patch of damp grass sent me tumbling The unsuspecting cactus met with my posterior counterpart Pain like this had never been so evident Thus the continuous struggle to forget the thornbush incident
