Notes About The Poem

The Swing

The Swing

Writing from the porch now.
I am down to paper and pen.
Rocky will not let me
have anything else.
He insists on all of my time
there is little or none
left for rhyme
these days.

He calls my name in the morning "Ma, ma"
He calls my name in the eve. "Ma, ma"
He knows how to train me well.
He has put me under his spell,
and I have already fallen
in love.
It took only one time
to hold him close in my arms.
He has such magical charms.

My husband and I,
We now celebrate...
each day a new.
We are parents of a big boy now
and he is home.
He is our first kid.
We are so proud.

He is
one of many...
to follow
but none will be as cool
for me... as the first!
At least that is true until
the next.

wow, so you are very young and writing poetry. yes, it's difficult to do much of anything with a baby to worry about. It's so cool you are enjoying the experience. The first six to eight months of both my kids was the worst for me. They had colic and it was hell being up all night. GREAT poem.

Sweet friend, I was playing with words... Yes, I have two kids. They are older now. This new kid... is a baby goat. He is so much fun. I feel like I have been blessed again with a wild toddler... lol... Hugs. Ann

My friend, my baby this time is a tiny goat. He weighs almost nothing and takes a bottle. It is like being handed a toddler overnight. I thought I knew how to laugh before, but I have been receiving lesson of late... lol... Ty for your kind remarks, YOu are a fine poet... I enjoy your writings.
