I remember the swing Lifting my legs up high Reaching, reaching for the sky Believing I had wings A dreamscape it was for me A ride above the ground A place that could be found A place where I could flee Imagination running wild Tree branches blurred, pictures made Cool air flowing in the shade A fun place to be for a child Under the maple tree it hung With memories of laughter to last These simple things in the past Ring in motion of the songs sung Heidi Sands 3/29/18

So beautifully expressed, Heidi and it evokes so many sweet memories of my own! I grew up in the city and my Maple tree was made of steel but the feelings were the same xxoo

Lovely verse about childhood days. I remember as a child standing on the swings at the park to see how high I could go, nearly took off a few times lol. Tom

Lovely memories of the simpler joys and times of childhood, Heidi. I used to love to swing as high as I could and jump from the seat - airborne - the higher and further I could jump the better :) thank you for bringing back sweet reveries.. A great poem.
