The Sum of Our Somes

The Sum of Our Somes Some sit quietly and watch life pass them by, While others decide to live it; Some accept the quality of being, While others decide to give it. Some ask questions and wonder why, Things are the way they are; Some look past what is already known, In pursuit of the farthest star. Some like order; Some like chaos; Some are prejudiced; Some lack bias; Some step forward; Some step back; Some retreat; Some attack. Humanity is the sum of these somes, That help the world spin round; Letting each one pursue their own some, Is the best way to live - I've found.

Just discovering you Joe and am so glad. This has that lovely swinging feel with a message that gives the reader substance. Great verse.
