The State of Confusion

Fears of wizards and witches
That place the spells
and puts you in stitches
Angels and demons
That makes you yell
With swords and pitchforks
To keep you in hell
Kings and Queens
Unlimited power
Cruelty begun for untold hours
Lawmen and criminals
But here’s the pun
Verses our mortality
They both have guns
Priest make the sacrifices
Rabbis tell us why
Mothers loving children
Fathers discipline make them cry
Daughters raised in fashion
Away from the passions of the sons
Judges playing politicians
Lawyers lying for cases won
Time is a gift of the living
Where death is the deadline begun
Freedom is worth beginning
If risk is worth a son
The law once protected
But now we regret
The law we once loved
Has now become a threat
What happened to the paperwork
The Magna Carta and Constitution
Where is God
in all this disillusion
A new heaven
And new earth
Are His only solution
To end this mess
and all this confusion

I think your right, TS, the end of it all may be the only solution to this chaos we're now calling life. Only God knows! I'll leave it to Him. Have a great weekend, my friend. Bill

I have to wonder if these words reflect the thoughts of people in the 1930's or 1860's. In those days, the actions of a few good men were able to right the ship. I have to hope that our times will find their own "Good Men" that will save us from drowning. Some great words you have given us my friend.

Someday that day will happen when there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Creative work about the problems in society. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara

Our times are so bad. You have powerfully expressed your angst about a world, so topsy turvy, which is going to the dogs! Great writing, dear S !

A wonderfully deep and questioning poem my friend. This world gets stranger every week. Society seems to be breaking down to the selfish give me components. God bless you...
