The Star

Singing carols at Christmas time with mistletoe hung high Enjoying mistletoe kisses and pumpkin pie Bringing cheer to others both near and far The tree is decorated but is missing its star Perhaps it's in the attic somewhere Someone needs to find it to make the tree complete As we sing Rudolph the red nosed reindeer While awaiting Christmas treats Then the star is finally put upon the tree Shining bright for all to see Like long ago when a star proclaimed the new born king Listen carefully and you can hear the angels sing

this is a really cute Xmas poem that I found way back here looking for a poem of yours I never saw yet. I can see Monterey Sirak under my comment, and it makes me kind of sad because I really miss her being her. She published a book and I've not heard from her since!

Thanks Andrea, Sadly, many poets just disappear, like David below..

Fantastic! My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night, and the last stanza made me think of it.

Nice story on the best part of the tree. I can't remember from year to year what our star/angel looks like...it's like a new gift each year.

Nicely timed, Joseph. You certainly hit the high points well. Now you've needled me, and I need to get out the tree. Well, tomorrow maybe.
