The Speed of the Metronome
Within our hearts there is a pendulum,
a metronome that keeps the pace.
If we listen to the moments pass,
the time begins to race.
Some swing to the left; some swing to the right,
while others just stand still in the middle.
Some can’t take sides or cause a row.
They are totally non-committal.
We know the pendulum’s swinging,
and time is tick tocking away.
But, we can set the speed of the metronome,
slowing down the pace of the day.
