The Speed of the Metronome Within our hearts there is a pendulum, a metronome that keeps the pace. If we listen to the moments pass, the time begins to race. Some swing to the left; some swing to the right, while others just stand still in the middle. Some can’t take sides or cause a row. They are totally non-committal. We know the pendulum’s swinging, and time is tick tocking away. But, we can set the speed of the metronome, slowing down the pace of the day. 5/24/17

what a nice way to discuss this topic, Janis. I think you expressed very well how the metronome relates to our busy lives!

I enjoyed the metaphors in this piece and I especially loved your last two ending lines. We can slow things down if we try. I hope this does really well in the contest Janice. It contains a beautiful message. 7 ; )
