The Space Heater I am sitting on the porch watching the birds at the feeder my husband just filled. He is a sweetheart, and I am blessed. I was thinking. I was praying. Every breath... to Him on high! Almost, nearly no one... just me noticed the female cardinal. She was there. Beautiful in her own right. Not bright red, but a warm, fall, flame... with markings only her mate would know, and God of course. I was supposed to be doing other things. It is the holiday season. No... It is Christmas. It is the celebration of the birth of Our Savior. It is the very beginning of everything bright. The birds are still at the feeder. A bright, cardinal, male has shown up. The other birds give way, like a celebrity has joined their crowd? Again... I should go inside and do things that are important on a list that I made... last week? or the week before? I used to make them all the time. But I found that I used more time making them than succeeding. Watching birds is on the list now. It was not always there, but it should have been. They are not afraid of the winter. They know the Father knows their need, and will feed them unto the spring, when life will come forth at His command. My husband calls from the door, "Come inside the coffee is ready." He is such a good man. I live in Grace, as I have no idea how I got here, except by the Lord's plan. I would have been happier sooner, if I had listened, and heard, the word. I get up quietly as not to disturb the guests, and go inside. He is there. Life is beautiful, inside and out. For now, however, the space heater is a comfort to sit by together, until spring.

Lovely, heartwarming, beautiful poem of a day in God's Love, Ann. I enjoyed your poem and want to wish You and yours a Happy New Year! Have a great 2024! Sara and I want to thank you for the lovely Christmas Present. I don't know if you know, I was a licensed Southern Baptist Minister for 7 years. I also lived in Atlanta and knew Dr. Charles Stanley and have heard him in person at First Baptist in Atlanta. I also watched his T.V. show. Thank you for the gift. Love,Bill & Sara Baker

Thanks for sharing this. God bless you. Meanwhile, I greet you with a Joyous New Year with this prayer from the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."
