The Soul, the Sole
1.
The body an’ the soul,
Two parties that stroll parri-passu,
Just like wheat an’ soup used to do,
Or rather like yet-to-be-refined crude petrol’.
2.
The body an’ the soul,
A wonderfully co-existing two,
Natural, enigmatic too,
Dear Reader, Carest thou for thine soul?
3.
The body an’ the soul,
I support the majority view,
Or rather the view of the Jews,
That the sole of life is the soul.
4.
The body out of existence’ ill entirely roll,
The soul will roll only to forever continue,
Just like the soul of Lazarus an’ the rich fool,
However, that’s by the way a biblical rigmarole.
5.
Care not for the body; only to suffer the soul,
Like blind an’ senseless used to do,
A’las, only to cry their pupils from normal to blue,
Just because they ignored the soul; the sole.
