Four Seasons

The Sisters of the Seasons

“Seasons teach us that change can be beautiful.” - unknown Fair is Spring. Like a butterfly, she glides in with dew-drop sparkle on her rosebud cheeks and with breezy charm. With ardor, Summer comes dancing a tango sultrily, slinking by night into a shower of star-fall. Fall arrives spilling brilliance on sunsets and leaves. . . Winter then whirls in. Her windswept gown lifts and steals moon's glow

Glad you didn't leave out one season, Andrea. They all combine to make life as many of us know it a variety of temperatures and tempers. Congrats on another fine poem, I like the shadorma as a form. I like your verbs associated with the seasons. gliding, dancing, spilling, whirling. Have a blessed Easter this weekend.

Dear Andrea, Congratulations on POTD! There’s a nice contrast between the "breezy charm" of the start and that final, more aggressive image of winter physically lifting and stealing the light. It captures that specific feeling of how quickly a season can shift from an invitation to an extraction. I think it feels like a sequence of snapshots taken just as the subject is turning away. My grandchildren to a tee! lol! Spring Blessings, Daniel

This reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. I enjoyed the artwork and the work. We're getting a spring and summer mixture here with daytime temperatures in the afternoon being quite warm but not as bad as in some places. I really like your well-thought-out work. Sara K
