My day had started very well when Santa went on a test run
It was my first time on the sleigh; I thought it was great fun
But we hit a patch of turbulence, it is then I lost my grip
I’m tossed out of the back seat, sadly no one saw me slip
I’m one of Santa’s trainee elves who has lost his way
I should be with Rudolph to help Santa with his sleigh
but tragedy beset me when I fell into deep snow drifts
I must get back to Santa to help load the Christmas gifts
Please can anybody help me, I’m just a trainee elf
I’m due to unload presents from our workshop shelf
But I landed in a drift of snow in an unfamiliar city
It’s Christmas Eve, I’m in need - will somebody take pity
Can you take me to the North Pole so I can do my work
If Santa knows I’m missing he’ll think that I’m a jerk
I’ve made toys for all the children, it has taken me all year
So I’m singing out this sad song hoping somebody will hear
Yes I’m one of Santa’s trainee elves who has lost his way
I should be with Rudolph helping Santa load his sleigh
but tragedy beset me when I fell into deep snow drifts
I must get back to Santa who will deliver Christmas gifts
