The Shape of Kindness

When I first saw it sitting there,
it was a sad and lonely square.
A circle rolled up high to make a moon,
and a triangle played a lively tune.  
This is just the happenstance
that made the first square dance.

It was an all-girls activity to balance b-ball which the boys enjoyed. (no girls' team). I remember when we did square dance in school. It was mixed boys and girls, but the girls seemed to like it more. I just wrote a poem yesterday starring the circle and the triangle called "A Night on the Square".

Also, I wrote a poem called "strange square dance". I have no idea why I keep writing poems about square dancing when I have virtually no experience of it - maybe i have some kind of mental illness.
