The Second Voice

THE SECOND VOICE
The curtain rises in the stage grand, this man comes under the spotlight with a fancy dressed puppet in hand, his face fluid, thin lips pursed tight. The puppet says ‘good evening’ to the audience in a state of awe. The man says to it ‘can you sing’, his lips muttering in a voice low. The puppet sings this man’s song, he dances to the tune each time new. The solo show ends before long, the man says to all ‘thank you’. To utter his words static lips forget, he now speaks in his second voice. The ventriloquist turns into a puppet, the curtain finally falls, not his choice.
