The Sacred Meow Society
I had for a short while an endearing cute pet,
a silky white cat, I christened him as Billy.
He liked to lie on sofa, often making it wet,
the wanton animal stupidity, I thought, was so silly.
He was never to be found in the assigned place,
whenever I looked for, him I was not able to see,
but outside the house people saw his ornate face,
a holy cat, in bedecked blessed group he wanted to be.
Out of the house at dusk he used to daily run,
join the meow society, take part in gorgeous play.
He disappeared one night, did not ever return,
became familial part of the sacred feline guild far away.
