The Road That Leads to Home

Some travel many roads and find adventures serve to fill their quest for change. This thought they’ve left behind: The road that leads to home is best. From the familiar, some have turned to seek a chance to be the guest in foreign settings. This, they’ve spurned: The road that leads to home is best. In fantasy, while trapped in Oz, young Dorothy was scared and stressed. She deeply yearned for all that was. The road that leads to home is best. Some travel many roads and find the road that leads to home is best.

I just finished reading and honestly, my heart is still hearing its gentle wisdom. Each verse beautifully captures the profound pull of home, whether we realize it at first or not. I love the way you start by contrasting the allure of adventure with the quiet comfort of familiarity. The second stanza speaks to anyone who has ever felt the tug of wanderlust. We chase novelty, yearn for new experiences, yet sometimes forget the grounding embrace of what's known. The final repetition of the refrain, "Some travel many roads and find/ the road that leads to home leaves a lasting impression. Janice, your poem is not just technically proficient, it's imbued with genuine emotion and thoughtful insight. - Blessings, Daniel
