The Riches of the Sea
The sky so blue and clear.
Not a cloud to be seen.
There is so much beauty here.
It is peaceful and serene.
The sun is warm and bright.
Lending its cheerful rays.
The waves dance in the light.
Gone is the lingering gray haze.
The ocean sings its own song.
The breeze lifts this lilting tune.
Letting the melody move along.
Floating on air into the dunes.
Gently the water touches land.
And flows back into the tide.
A soft lapping sound upon the sand.
A rhythmic motion, it appears to glide.
Seagulls cry, competing to be heard.
As they soar, they have much to say.
Not to be outdone, a brave little bird.
Joins in for a proud display.
As I turn to slowly walk away,
I take these gifts with me.
Each of these moments will stay,
In my heart, where they will always be.
These sights are mine alone.
For they are part of me.
I will share so all may own,
the riches of the beautiful sea.
