The Renegade
As I lay upon my bed tonight
I dreamed of ways to take my flight,
Whether here on Earth or Heaven's Gate,
I've prepared myself, a Renegade.
It may not make much sense today,
But I know my voice is here to stay,
And I will live with Truth and Honor
and spend my final waking hours,
to reminisce among the shadows
or quiet my spirit that is not shallow.
For here on Earth I'll always be
the person whom can turn a cheek,
or kiss you in the moonlight's bliss
Then head to bed without remiss.
I'll miss my children when I leave
while they walk among the evergreens,
and enjoy the taste of a bubbling brook,
then skip a rock or throw a hook.
This world is filled with so much despair,
so while on Earth, I will certainly share,
and leave a legacy behind
for future generation's to find.
Though I may seem like a confusing soul
but in my heart my spirit soars,
whether here on Earth or Heaven's Gate,
I'll be just that, a Renegade.
