The Rain

Darlene, thank you for this. It prompted some memories that became a poem I have just posted called "Lullabies of Thunder" from childhood memories to loving the weather as an adult. We never know where inspiration will come from, and in this case, you are mine.

I love when it rains, but hate to drive in it! Loved your last line

The rain does pours down at times, and that is when my heart is so happy for it spreads in our flower beds quickly and the rain coming downward through the tree leaves, is music to them. I saw that yesterday! I had to step out on my covered deck but loved the wind whipping up and the showers slightly touching me. The trees in a bluster…all so nice!

Need the rain as we are into heat at the moment. Yes the wind does make music through the leaves on trees. Nice poem. love phyl

Darlene, without many words, you describe a very interesting phenomenon. Rain definitely has an interesting sound that depends on what it strikes and affects. You have me thinking of it as part of an orchestra!!

I am a fan of rain as well, Darlene; of course, here in Phoneix, sometimes we do not see a drop for months...so it is almost always a time for celebration -- though the winds that accompany can be devasting.
