The Race

The anticipation is there, There's nothing to fear! Just one race, I must face To get the credit For my merit I'm ready to engage, To release my rage The lines before me, My path to the key I hear the noise So I steady my poise, Here we go, Fear me though! Bang! My legs are flying, My arms are supplying Down the track, I can't cut back Just a few more seconds, A gold medal beckons! Over the line I leap, I feel like I could fall asleep I won!, I won! Oh, what fun! I claim my gold medal, Quite something to hold I did achieve, But now I must leave
