The Quiet that Speaks : Come to the Waters
"Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen that you may live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you." Isaiah 55:3
I chose the character trait, trustworthy, and wrote this piece alternating between prayer and listening to God speak to me.
Father, all glory to You and Your Son,
I treasure Your forgiveness of sin.
...........Child, foreknowing all things you’ve done
...........I see repentance deep within.
Thank you for Christ, our great high priest,
for His pray’rs two thousand years ago.
for mom as my Christian model.
for grace made known thru godly saints.
for promise of a home in heav’n.
..........I’ve chosen you, lantern of peace,
…........to carry my light where you go.
…........to treat your body as my temple.
…........to heed my commands and constraints.
…........to sit at my feet all-forgiv’n.
Saints tried my case before your throne,
they taught me about true righteousness.
They showed me Your love and my pride.
..........I trust you as a faithful one,
..........knowing full well your weakness,
..........I’ve sent you a Helper and Guide.
Priests they were and priest shall I become?
Thank you, Father God, for your Spirit's might.
...........A priest you are; priests you’ll lead home.
...........You are forgiven; you are my delight.
