The Queen of Flowers

Named the queen of flowers, the elegant peonies
With large fluffy petals and nectar, they attract honey bees

Their alluring fragrance like a rose sweetly scents the air
An all time favourite of gardeners and lovely in one's hair

These magnificent blooms in vibrant hues are truly a beautiful sight
So if you're a fan of this flowering queen; in your garden she's sure to delight

I love your peonies poem. I think peonies are very regal. Altho I don't have any in my garden, I did have at my other house. I love your "...favorite of gardeners and lovely in one's hair." Take care, friend.

i taste a bit of prejudice herein and while i truly enjoyed the poem....understand your preference...and bow to such a love...it brings endearing to a lovely height....i have had such an encounter before, cared not for roses or chocolate...a more than Delima, more of an Enigma...and that is what is charming in life, understanding those differences...and you have deftly executed as much in peonies...thank you

there is a myth, and a lovely one, that God created flowers so that Earth would be worthy of woman....add that each birth comes with the assurance God believes humans redeemable....and you have the graces women bestow in the equation

Hi Timothy, Yes peonies are my favourites but all flowers are truly beautiful beings. I think its sad that some flowers have been labeled under that ugly word weed. Until I did some research I actually didn't know the history of the peony and that the Chinese call them the queen of flowers. Thank you for popping by to read my newest poem. Have a beautiful day :-)
