The pros and cons of living at the bottom of the world

When Christmas comes around, And I am still above ground, With the prospect of seeing in another year, Wearing the presents I got this year, I ask myself given the differing time zones, Would I like to change zones, As I could put off til another tomorrow, What I must do on an earlier tomorrow, If down under. But as I bask in the sun, down under, Eating an ice-cream, Not hearing the wind scream, I am quite happy to put winter blues at the back of my mind, And being in the earlier time zone down under, I never will mind, As I seize the day, On an earlier day. The only thing I am not sure about, If the devil is about, And it is time for me to say goodbye, Which time zone does he set his clock by.

A good question, David: Just repeat the Irish wish. “May you be in heaven a half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead’. I miss my homeland but have adjusted now. I still sing, Six White Boomers on Christmas Day. SuZ

thanks for taking the time to read my work Suzanne. I came into this world fighting for my first breath and intend to go out fighting for my last. Death seems to get all the headlines these days and life too often rubbished. A lot to be said for being a hopeless romantic even at 70. Our eldest daughter is expecting identical twin boys in August. Regards David in NZ where else

More than likely the horned elf is ensconced in the American time zone. :)... I love Australia, wouldn't want to be anywhere else as Home base. New Zealand I know, is a very beautiful country. All the best for your next chapter.
