The Price We Pay

Early-on we learn
of the heavy price paid
for paths wrongly chosen
over roads poorly paved

had I known then
all that I would go through,
I would have gotten an
Order of Protection, before
my stork ever flew....

Interesting angle there, Joe. Sharp wit as well. ~ Storky

Yourself, a master of witty writing, know how important it is, for sanity's sake, to try and paint lipstick on pigs. I know you also are not happy with the direction of world-affairs. Blessings my friend.

Loved it Joe. So many things we would change if we could go back, knowng what we know now.... not sure I would wanna go back quite as far as my association with the stork! A really fine poem.

Yea, I've long since forgiven the stork. Only carrying-out orders.

Joe, I have heard that the road to God is always under construction with potholes of learning, lessons of detours and tickets for indiscretions of speeding. I like this one very much! Fortunately, if we stop in at God's rest stop we can pick up that "order of protection" with our faith. This short poem has many layers to it - many layers to ponder! Thank you for writing and sharing it. Blessings on wings of protection.

I guess why most of us do not clearly recall past lives...a mercy with another chance to use a lint-brush and to iron out some wrinkles. In my case, I think, a lot of mud also, so a good washing was necessary. Still dizzy from that spin-cycle. Blessings my friend.
