The Power of Innocence

            As a innocent child,
     I listened to mom sing to me;
         a lovely bedtime lullaby,
    as she kissed my night fear away.

            And since a little girl,
    dad took me for long nature walks;
        he taught me about the song birds,
    and all the wildflowers growing.

            Before life's knife touched me,
    mom told me to always be kind;
        to show love- be truthful in life,
    and to never ever do harm.

            My innocence taken,
     that innocent child is scarred;
        lots of angels now guide my steps,
     yet, the love from childhood remains.

Beautiful memories of childhood. Our parents teach us the values of life and we try to live by them. Later we are uprooted into a totally different environment. I too greatly miss my blissful childhood.

Ah how beautiful and lucky are the souls that received such unconditional love from their parents. We sometimes forget to appreciate! Your poems, my warrior poetess, always carry innocence, can see you have a beautiful heart! Pleasure reading! Sending you light always. Best wishes. Fave it is

This is a gentle work that made me imagine a loving mother singing to her daughter. Great work.
