The Place Calling Me Home
l fell in love here, a long time coming, but this was a different love.
It's timeless beauty draws many, but why, they do not know
It has a history, as old as the snow caped mountains,
with bloody battles , planned and whispered, as secretly as roving Autumn days.
l sit at it's foot , pondering this World of ours, a journey sometimes as painful as the men who gathered here long ago. l drink in it's essence, it's fragrance envelopes me, still bewildered why it keeps calling me.
On snow sprinkled green waves of natures palette , l lie back and close my eyes.
l dream of the black ink waters l hear near. It gently dances with my heart beats, as contented and at peace, like the gentle rain drops the dusk sky offers me.
I'm happy here, l will always be happy here, for l fell in love here.
l sit up and send a kiss to the reflective mirrors of my last resting place , to be of my ashes. A request i'v made to my loved ones. They understand.
For l fell in love with the beauty of Loch Shiel , Glenfinnan, as did Bonnie Prince Charlie.
But he left, l stayed.
