The Piccadilly Line Wayra

Living underground* Tiny mice are scurrying Darting between the rail tracks Commuters smile with glee Enchanted ~ travel on their way 5th PLACE Written 16th August 2019 Contest: SECOND EDITION OF WAYRA Sponsor:Nette Onclaud Syallables per line 5 7 7 6 8 *A community of mice actually live deep down on the Piccadilly Line, a station on London's underground system. They seem completely oblivious to the speeding tube trains continuously bounding through the tunnels, also taking no notice of the many commuters who pass through this station daily. It is especially heartening to see the bemused looks upon the faces of folks when they first espy a tiny mouse scuttling by, and hopefully they arrive at their workplace with a smile upon their face! Your winning poem is lovely and different from most other entries, Ann. I have seen rats in the London underground; I guess they are ok as long as they keep themselves to themselves:) Congratulations. Regards // paul

You could expand this poem - talk about them running up to you, asking for your help, running into your purse, running home with you. Get my drift Ann? Ha! I would like to see this!

I lived in London for a short while in early 70's and remember well commuting to work by underground..your poem brought back some memories. Anything goes under there.. much like in any urban area..you have great power of observation..best for a win with your unique interpretation of the contest photo, Ann.
