The Piano

I have some new neighbors, Just one floor below. Their names and their faces, Of course, I don’t know. But once there was quiet And now there is not. It seems there’s a piano; They play it a lot. I’m used to the street noise – The traffic and such. I tune that all out; I’m not bothered that much. Not so with the piano – Though I won’t complain, It is likely one day To just drive me insane!

I take it it is out of tune? Perhaps one day it will serenade you to sleep.

Well said! My neighbour plays a ukulele (but only two chords) hour after hour after hour leaving one to wonder why they dare not attempt another chord or even another note?

Oh come on now Ilene...the piano is the best instrument, well maybe not at 2 in the morning, but still. :) Really fun my friend. You are so good at this...I am going to call it street poetry, your poems always make me think but are always just normal stuff that no one else looks at like you do. Ok, ether street poetry or urban poetry...let me think about that. :)

I hope they play it at a sensible time and don't cause irritation to you... it could be worse and they play loud music at unsociable hours :-( hugs Jan xx
