The Petals of Paranoia

She loves me? – She loves me not? The petals pay – ripped from their stems - tossed aside in trembling despair. Innocents – deemed soothsayers – victims of love’s inquisition sacrificed on the godless altar of insecurity’s insouciant idolatry. John G. Lawless ©4/22/2018

Reminds me of a song sung at a May Day program when I was in school. "One June morning, through the meadow going, Doris found a little daisy growing...." Good job, I love the title. Familiar theme but you stretch it to a more spiritual tone. Thought I'd see if I could find it on the Internet and there it was on YouTube -- The Lying Little Daisy. words by Reginald V. Darow music by John Prindle Scott published by Allan & Co. Done as I would have sung it at school - in the 1950's
