The Pebble

If you have a little rock in your shoe,
You will not cross Alabama,
You will not cross Louisiana,
You’ll have to remove it first,

In poetry, it is the opposite,
If you have a small pebble in your shoe,
Do not remove it, think about it
Make it into a poem.

LOL, love it! I try to look over those pebbles in my shoe, not fret. We can always use the catharsis of poetry, find profundity in angst, grief, or find pleasure in pain…what?

A pebble in the shoe will keep the feet bound to the desk writing. Inspiring poem Yann with deep meaning!

I can imagine the painful poem that a person could write while walking with that rock in their shoe. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for stopping by my page. Sara

You have looked upon the pebble from two ambivalent angles and have composed a beautiful poem, Yaan.

I love this Yann. You are right, and its a tribute to Poets everywhere that they would suffer for their poetry. A fave!

There's something very zen about this yann. When I saw that you had written Alabama and Louisiana; I thought of Little Rock, Arkansas. But your peeble did turn into a poem. Thanks
