The Other Side of Tomorrow

On the other side of tomorrow, In a land that's yet to be. Lies a lovely woodland meadow, With all creatures running free. It's here we'll find the pets we've lost, To fate and all fate brings. Illness, age, misfortune: Such sad and loathsome things. There's never painful memories In this land beyond today. They wait for us in happiness, Not gone, but just away. They look for us to come to them, To know our voice once more. To hear our footsteps on the path, Our hand upon the door. And all shall be at peace with them And with us . . just as well; In the land beyond tomorrow, Pets we've loved, but lost, now dwell. © 2015 Diane Lefebvre

G'day Diane... sorry about your loss that can't be totally compensated, but boy oh boy, this poem is a beautiful but sad dedication for a much loved family member - thank you Diane - Lindsay

I wrote this awhile back, Lindsay. Because I know the pain of animal loss first hand, I thought it might bring a little comfort to those who are grieving, such as my son who lost his little 13 year old Gabby, last week. Happy thoughts . .Diane L.

LOVED this great poem, Diane!! I am such a big animal lover, and miss my first dog so much! I now have two dogs that I adore, and hope and pray I will see them in that sweet part of heaven reserved for our beloved pets one day! A big 7 from me :)

I know your pain Laura. I lost five pets in five years and my way of coping with the grief was to 'write'. It helped a lot at the time. Much of what I write concerns God's lesser creatures and I have come to believe He is pleased I speak for them. Thank you for your nice comments. Diane L.
