The Other Me
THE OTHER ME
I want to scream, “wakeup,
Get going and get dressed”
The “other me”, screams back,
“No way, I’m too depressed”.
The mornings flying by
And now, it’s after four
I’ve never gotten dressed
Much less, got out the door.
All plans. Interrupted
My schedule shot to h***
I’lm going back to bed
Stay there till I fell well.
Isn’t this ridiculous
Acting like a silly fool
Or like some sleepy child
Too tired to go to school.
“Wake up! Wake up! Wakeup!
Three times means emphasis
That old lady screams back,
“Not on you life, sweet Miss”
Do you have an, “Other”
Telling you what to do?
Is she your, “Make believe”
Or is she, really you?
Someone’s going to be blamed
For all you did not do.
Will you be blaming her
Or her accusing you?
