The One Who Survived

The One Who Survived

Dumb drunk
when arrested
thought he’d hit just the tree.
Beneath his car lay my brother’s
body.

10 years of probation for vehicular homicide? That's it? sigh. Are you and Jennifer biological sisters, Andrea? Congrats on your placement and for your bravery to write this one. ;(

Lin, the first time I heard of this 10 years probation was just now when Jenny came on here to say it. She was actually living with our stepbrother DAle in a condo when this all happened down in Texas. So she knows the details better. Yes, she is my biological sister. Please see her picture under the poem I wrote for her on Jan 7 of this year, Jenny is the title!!

Very point blank sis. He didn't get off scott free because he blamed the girl in the vehicle with him, said it was her fault. She broke her neck in the accident, was able to walk away after being in the hospital but he never acknowledge his act of stupidity of driving drunk. He did get 10 years of probation.

The damage done is forever. It's a shame. Your words are like a knife. It is something how in just in an instant a horrible act can (a cut) be done which is irreversible. Alcohol has a very dangerous side. I knew the person who owned the import rights to grey goose vodka. A number of years back he sold it for $4 billion. So, we can hardly imagine how much a part of our society it is and what we are up against. He also owned jagermeister. They had "jagermeister" girls in bars promoting it.

Wow. This really got to me, Andrea. Your words are point blank. Condolences for your loss. I'm not sure how I'd feel if this happened to either of my brothers :(
