The One That Almost Got Away

I’ll never forget the first time that I saw him Quietly walking through the woods all alone. I stood there watching until the sunlight was dim Hoping he’d come closer before wandering home. He was the most gorgeous male that I’d ever seen With his broad shoulders and big, beautiful, brown eyes. If you’ve ever seen the one, then you know what I mean. He carried himself well and held his head up so high. If he saw me, he would run, and that would be just my luck. I didn’t want him to leave, so I kept very still. I shot him right between the eyes; an 18-point buck! I’ll never forget the night I got my very first kill.
