The Obscurity of Peace

Cries of famine, torture and pain echo worldwide A child who hungers, a family facing death How can we live in peace until such ills subside Injustices may linger till our dying breath The chance to change the course of our world is still there Though time appears to be running out as we wait Join the peace movement now and let’s unite in prayer To succeed in this quest, we cannot hesitate We can’t erase violence by going to war Such lessons we can learn from mankind’s history If aggression is a tactic that you abhor Lay down all your weapons to end this misery Though a world of peace and brotherhood seems obscure You cannot deny this notion has much allure

Its the only way and a pragmatic choice Carolyn, the thing is you tell people and they do the opposite..' the media have learned to insinuate instead and seep their ideas into the targets..'

It's a nice heartfelt poem written with your great heart for the world where perfect vision is hidden silently on tearing of the innocent victims and the causes of all kinds of problems of today's world is facing. You have provided nice solutions here too. A great congrats on your win, my lovely friend. Loved always,bl

This is a well written, thought provoking, descriptive, and creative all rolled up into a beautiful poem. A thrilling song like poem that flows with a carefree beat. The words are lyrical and bounce through this poem drumming up emotions with a gentle inviting beat. Emile. #7

I agree with you Carolyn; wars do not solve much...they leave no winners and they make the world's problems even worse than they already are. Is peace just a dream? It could well be, but we must give it a chance to succeed. Love and hugs // paul

well said carolyn, i concur completely. who else but poets and minstrels could instigate such a bold endeavour? of course it would first require an edict under international law backed by consumers. it would appear that our collective power as consumers is the most effective instrument at our disposal in this world anyway. good poem by the way.

Someday and I believe it will be soon when the church is raptured and the end will come but of course no one knows a date so it could be another 100 or 1000 years.. ..Then perfect peace..Interesting work..Thanks for stopping by..The picture was not of Princess but the Chihuahua looks very much like her when she gets defensive..Sara
