The Nutty Professor

There once was a nutty professor

Who felt he was so much the lesser

                    He mixed in a beaker

                              The perfect Id-tweaker

               Out popped a sharp-dresser successor.

Buddy Love was the coolest of men

Where once an old egg-head had been

                    But despite how he tried

                              The old prof couldn't hide

From his nature, or who he had been.

His honest intent from the start

To impress a young blonde, a-la-cart

                    But each potion he'd brew

                              Wasn't sweet or as true

As the man that she found ... in his heart.

You know, I was trying to remember what the movie was about til I read your limerick. You've brought it all back very nicely. As Alan Sherman might have remarked: "Glory, glory, Jerry Lewis!"

ahh, what a sweet ending. I think I saw it, but so long ago, I just don't really recall it. Jerry Lewis was a one of a kind, that is for sure!! Nice seeing this one of yours. I don't think I see many limericks from you, but you sure have them down!

No, I've only written one other Limerick, I think, (Fred - about a snowman - very funny), but I used to memorize them and I have about twenty that I can recite. This was fun - "Fred" was even more so! Blessings and thanks to you, Buddy! :-) <3

You've portrayed his character's qualities quite well, Greg. He wore many disguises during his acting career.

Thank you very much, Dear Lin - yes, he was a comedic genius who excelled at chracter portrayal ... he will be missed dearly. Blessings, my friend! :-) <3
