I encountered her on a dark stormy night Her huge trout like lips were a scary sight Strands of white spittle formed on angry lips huge folds of fat spilled over her wobbly hips With scaly grey skin and blood red eyes and legs so fat they chafed her thighs Hair tangled and matted like limp seaweed She reeked like a fish of an ancient breed Reaching out for me with her claw like nails Slime dripped from her hands like rancid snails I tossed her a coin and hurried on my way She’s not been seen since that stormy day 03-28~17

Fantastic Jan! If you are referring to the contest I think, the form was to be free - I also was inspired to do a rhymed verse instead - so much more mythical!

Your words sound good and paint a many colored canvas of sights and sounds that the reader can relate to. I am captured by these images and the descriptive power of your words. You have managed to capture the spirit of this creature for all to ponder and enjoy. Emile. #7

Very cool, very creepy and so much fun to read Jan. This one really floors me, it is that good. For a moment while reading I fell into this poetic story and if not for the coin being tossed, I might still be there. Good luck in the contest

She must have been a test for you Jan...I was on the bus yesterday and a lady with googlie eyes got on but didn't have the fare...nearly everyone ignored her so I offered her up the dollar needed...there are many in need and it doesn't take much to help...even a little

There are many in need in so many ways Tim. Talking of googlie eyes - when I saw my recent brain scans it was bizarre seeing my eyeballs I looked like Marty Feldman lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Hello Jan. This is an entry to be read slowly in the spirit of the moment in time. This is very expressive and a well rounded poem. Contest or not contest your words can stand on their own. Good luck with the contest. Well done
