The stars are out but we don’t know ‘cause someone stole their nightly glow. A mystery we have to solve with hastened pace and quick resolve. A clue of sorts might be the moon; it's there at night but gone by noon. It floats above high in the sky but goes unseen and here is why: The sun is out and shining bright, it hides the moon with all its light. But there's no sun when night gets dark; why can't we see stars from our park? Another clue is on your porch shining brightly like a torch… One by one our lights come on and make the darkness look like dawn. The stars above they can't compete with all the light out on our street. So now at night we hardly know they're dazzling with a nightly show. Planets, stars and meteors streak, but too much light has made them weak. The source of all this light we see, comes from folks like you and me. For reasons most of us can't say, we want the night to look like day. Some say safety, some say crime, some just forget to take the time. It's not too hard for us to see the answer to this mystery: All we need to keep things cool, is to remember one small rule... To see the stars bring back the night; when you go to bed turn out your light.
