The Morning After
THE MORNING AFTER
The checkerboard tiles undulate in glossy teal and black.
A seaside picture window intoxicated in pink and yellow dawn.
The moon has hit the sack.
Sparkling solid colors — Magenta, sapphire, citrine and ruby pillows
stellar on pristine sofa and chairs. Greenwood morning stretch.
The starshine choir billows.
Petite red roses in a vase and tiny red heels tossed near the telescope.
Ladies on either side of window curiously lean out from their canvases.
The dish and the spoon elope.
The brightness of the inviting room greets the end of an eventful night.
With a yawn, a quiet smile, a luscious robe, the swoosh of satiny sea,
She descends from its height.
