Her smile secrets
The melancholy and doubt
Feelings that erase her courage
Make her feel left out
Leave her with a darkness
Which silhouettes her hope
Her faith and assurance
The beauty of knowing
Light is alive inside, dancing
Reflecting a joy so bright
Her eyes won’t reveal
The anxiety, the fear, the
Silence of soft, tender tears
Feelings so real and unreal
Brought to life by faded dreams
All the sorrow – all the rain
Washing away even the pain
Buried deep within her thoughts
Her heart a secret, yearning to be told
Her soul a sigh, breathless as love
Poured out on the hopeless
Waking the light of morning, dawn
Erasing the memory of something worth it
Something more potent than pain
Something alive and dismayed
By the disguise, her façade – the mask
Surviving her moments of grace
