The Magnificent Reality
Dollar bills tucked inside her back pocket
She scans the list for her favorite flavor chocolate
Vanilla, strawberry, lime and lust
None for you, says the black panther in disgust
Imagination, alcoholic mind
He’s not real, not so unkind
Harbored anger, elegance and class
Tools of manipulation that can not last
Sophisticated lady wearing her sex like a crutch
Stomping her cross as her diseased mind instructs
A poised, refined and dying flower
A box of secrets where she dips for power
Care - fullll whispers the winking cat
Money is against God - you surely know that
And inside this insane dream
You can’t even get your favorite ice cream
Poland, Africa, Egypt and Greece
She searches and seeks for her Golden Fleece
Dreams from a barstool wrapped up in smoke
But what will I do? She finally chokes
Breathe - look inside - be humble - and true
There is love and grace waiting for you
Sweep up your defects, turn them inside out
Hold them - watch them - it’s ok to doubt
Step one, step two, step three and four
Hopscotch your way up, there’s plenty more
Your not alone but you need to show
Just how far you’re willing to go
