The Lost Poem

The Lost Poem This is dedicated to a quickly lost poem. Its opening line for a second known. No more than a furtive verse buried away. Maybe my heart will return it someday. 6/12/17 YOUR BEST FOUR-LINE LIGHT VERSE, NO. 2 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: L MILTON HANKINS

Janis. Congrats on your placement. This is so powerful; and I relate to it so well. Our ability to recall inspiration that we somehow fell to capture on the printed page seems to be ever so powerless. I suppose that is part of the beauty of poetry-it 'demands' our immediate attention or it becomes a vapor blown into the wind. Blessings my friend.

Curtis, you have expressed so well what I was saying in the poem. It does come like a vapor. That is A good way of putting it. Thanks and blessings, Janis.

Nice write. Textbook wording and superb storyline. This could be like a model poem for students of poetry. I'm making things up instead of just saying great job...good days to you

The reason I inquired is -- since so far I'm unable to write a quality poem, it's at least nice to be the inspiration of one. Now I know it's a coincidence.

Wonder know more/ I haven't seen your poem. I will check it out now though. This is a fairly common occurrence with writing.

Such is the bane of a poet without pen and paper. On the positive side, that loss has led you to write this one. Nicely done, Janis.
