The Lonesome One Premiere Contest Winner

There is this wretched pain that I keep stumbling upon- guess I’ll be the lonesome one…from now on. I needed brilliant sunshine to adhere with my rain, a warmth so intense only comfort could remain. For there is no relief in a goodbye gone wrong, my soul abandoned, my heart no longer strong. The bloodline to my remorse carries an ebon stain. I used to be as elegant and beautiful as an ivory swan- guess I’ll be the ghastly one…from now on. Like an intravenous drip I have been debilitated and in this maddening sensation I am saturated. No rest for my mind with the throes of my isolation, no parallel lines can alleviate my starving desolation. In the bounty of my meal I’ll never be fully sated. I am the estranged victim of this hoaxed and puzzled con- guess I’ll be the sacrificial prey…from now on. Spiritual apathy and lost inside forsaken seclusion, I will never be able to come to an honorable conclusion. Remote on an island, friendless and sequestered, they left me in skull and bones; I am definitely festered. There’s been an illusion without vision, lost in confusion. I used to so soft and gentle like the texture of chiffon- guess I’ll be the unmended one…from now on. From Now On Poetry Contest May 23, 2018

You described the feeling so beautifully, Laura Loo. Far too common depressive time for so many people. Salutations, excellent poem and kudos on your gold win too.
