The Lonely Beach
Looking out beyond the dunes, to the sea.
The lonely beach beckoned me.
I walked the path, I always took.
Past the dunes to the beach, to take a look.
Seeing the waves come in to touch land.
And beyond, to the wide expanse of sand.
I saw that the beach, between dunes and ocean,
Was completely empty, nothing at all in motion.
I looked in both directions, and did not see,
no other signs of life, it was just me.
I took it all in, hearing only nature's voice.
I then wondered, that if I had a choice.
Would I give up the peace of this day,
to see the lonely beach, happily at play?
