The Light of Silence
THE LIGHT OF SILENCE
Petrified horizon turns the sky a somber slate
On wings of surging storm nimbus clouds ride
For the veiled sun to set they don’t wait
Rush in rampant rage from far and wide.
The slab of slate sky is broken asunder
Pieces with molten deluge fall in torrent
The horizon struck by scathing thunder
Burns in flickering flashes for an instant.
Blazing tracks of thunder make tapestry of fire
Leaping light leaves sound to languish behind
Reaches me as a bolt through the trembling air
Esoteric sight of lightning makes me almost blind.
Subdued sense of sound sinks deep in introspection
The mute light shimmers in my serene essence
The sight of lightning lights the vista of my vision
I could see the soul in bliss in the light of silence.
