Life of a cockroach as seen by a cockroach. I was the ghost writer because the cockroach I interviewed was not heavy enough to activate the computer keyboard.

The life of a poor cockroach
A very thankless life to live
Humans think that we are dirty
Have less than nothing we can give
We live our lives within the walls
Of the house where we reside
Peeking out the cracks and crevices
To where many friends have died
When the lights at night are turned out
And humans go to sleep a wink
We sneak into the kitchen
Find dirty dishes in the sink
You know that we eat everything
All the waste on every plate
I'm the stud roach about the place
I even brought a date
Suddenly the lights come on
Someone wants a midnight snack
We're caught out in the open
Far from a crevice or a crack
We hear a scream emitted
An uck, an ew, a roach!
If we want to live much longer
Must find another house to poach
For I'm quite sure tomorrow
When Bug-B-Gone is at the door
Assassins will have come for us
We will cease to be no more
So you see if you're a cockroach
It's hard to have a long term lease
Just when you think you've got it made
That's the time your life will cease
