The Lay of the Best Man - Part 3
Ask your friend, neighbour or even a stranger newly-met
Have they ever been damaged by a ‘trust’ ….now turned ‘regret’?
Most men, if not all, have fashioned their character on personal experience
Yet these damned hypocrites are themselves guilty of immoral expedience.
Want more proof of man’s aggressiveness and simple-mindedness?
Rouse the rabble; accuse the blameless .. now watch the rabble’s madness!
I’ve known women who ‘play the field’, cheat the man, and take on a lover
He bends over backwards to please her; she bends over forwards to please another.
Many-a-woman puts up with the pompous man rather than cause a palaver
Now I hear that one quarter children belong not to father, but the lover of the mother.
So, where lies the fault: the man, the woman, or that incorrigible Casanova?
Because if the man had done right by the woman, would there be all this bother?
Many men shall read my words, and with indignity, they shall flinch
Others, though outraged, shall take it all with salt - perhaps a pinch.
Live on in denial, if you must - there’s far greater comfort there
Give in to ignorance, if you want - there’s far more greater cheer.
My words may seem outrageous; my sentiments may appear spurious
But outspoken are the courageous and truth [really] does make men furious!
Man’s failings and failures through seasons - complete and malevolent.
Dire Spring, Summer, Autumn, …and now - ‘The Winter of Our Discontent’
There is but one man ever complete - Iesous Khristos Theou Hyiòs, Soter,
By way of the Good Book, His invite is for all, so ‘Respondez S’il Vous Plait’.
And for the sake of the lost sheep He cried: ‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani'?
Salvation of the pious is founded; ‘in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti’.
To every man who thinks he’s untainted; Yourself deceive.
To every man that thinks he’s not a cheat; That’s just make-believe
To all men that steal, plunder and breaks hearts; Your demise you weave
To all men that are still atheists and agnostics; I’ll make you believe.
To those men who love ‘misery’ and proliferate ‘hate’; You’ll never achieve.
To those men who profess probity and integrity; Please make me believe.
I am the Pessimistic Philanthropist …..that’s by design.
The Third Child of the Morrow - by Divine Assign.
I am Thefragmentedgenius, the i am of The I Am by default.
Call me what you will, my ‘all’ is of the Scriptural Vault.
I am the Jack of All Trades, Master of None - that’s me...
Ab Uno Disce Omnes…I look and learn by the Grace of The Holy He.
I am avowed to protect the woman and the child from man’s rampage
For the truth is: neither can withstand the brutality of his pillage
In the inevitable throes of human conflict and disasters,
Therein shall you find the pompous males; beastly masters.
I have imagined the darkest possible thoughts of man’s lewd lubricity
And I shudder for a Creator; for nothing can compare to the reality.
It is true, I too am man - of flesh - subject to Life’s forces
But my choices are of heart and mind …Heaven’s causes.
Even from the womb, I ‘asked not for whom the bells toll’…
For I knew I’d wandered into the world of the tortured soul.
‘Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter!!!’ it read, as I left the maternal girth
Somewhere, I’d taken the wrong turn - and ended up on this Earth!!!
Let your debates and dialogues of Nature/Nurture rage on
Blame the father, blame the son; or blame The Father and The Son.
Of all the men under the Sun you call the celeb a bad icon
But when all is said and done, the fault is yours - from break of dawn.
Created by apathy, fashioned by both mankind and society
With no remorse, no humility, and with certainty; no piety.
I’ve seen men that are bad; I’ve been there, done deeds of shame
But evil shall never become me, and I never played the hurt game.
I could have been bad, very bad, even badder than the best of them
But I made a choice, albeit conscious, for the Divine apophthegm
Because those that, with the last breath, utter the Final Commendation
Shall find peace from that which is the Cyclic Condemnation.
