The Laughing Sea
The sea laughs, its waves arise,
A timeless dance beneath vast skies.
Drifting freely, living today,
The tides erase what words convey.
Heaven laughs at our fleeting fight,
Who will fall, and who takes flight?
Ups and downs like the ocean’s roar,
High peaks crumble, low tides restore.
Why fret for victory, or weep for loss?
Life flows on, no need to pause.
The rivers laugh, the mountains sigh,
Heroes fade, their echoes die.
Yet in the breeze, I find my place,
Lost in solitude, time’s quiet embrace.
Bold and lofty, free from the strain,
Of fleeting glory or endless gain.
The waves will wash all dreams away,
Even life bows to their sway.
But what of that? Why fear the tide?
A noble heart has nothing to hide.
Cast off the mask, embrace the flame,
Forget the world, discard its name.
True self stands firm, unyielding, free,
Lonely, yes—but true to me.
Though my life may set like the evening sun,
Its splendor lingers, the race is won.
Through crashing waves, I find my song,
Laughing wildly, where I belong.
I live as the sea, vast and untamed,
Savoring joy, unbound, unchained.
Even at the edge, where shadows descend,
I’ll laugh, defiant, until the end.
