Notes About The Poem

The Kiss, 1907 by Gustav Klimt

f e e l me
like sonnets of sunrise
      infused with
clementine cadence
as I am the golden essence
in your floral skyline
       a hazel rose
quenched amidst the quiescence
of dulcet devotion
s t i
   r r
   i n
      g me to an
ardent realm
of singing solstice,
for in citrine warmth
of your poignant passion
laced with
perennial promises
I’m shaped
and crowned with
mosaic sakura,
robed in
fervent f l
            a r
              e
              s
as your touch
i l l u
    m i n a
          t e s
the blushing blurs
of dawning desires
r u
s h i n
      g
         beneath
mellifluous meadows
of my
      lovestruck skin

so k i s s me like
the sun after
          crimson rain~
wrap me in
sage and sandalwood;
be the aroma
r i s i n g from
blades of emeralds
where soul sees no
crestfallen crystals
and heart tastes not
  love’s
            lament…

 in silence, you are
the bronze backdrop
    glazed in
cues of compassion
i g n i t i n g
Juliet’s nightfall
 with poetry
                  and petals
 a reflection
 of timeless twin flames
           entwined
                 in
forget-me-nots
while I stay ~ intoxicated
   by the intricate
      lips of longing ~
a lethargic silhouette
that sighs ~ tied in stillness ~
     p u
        l s

 within the portrait
            of pining

IE, I was intrigued by the emotion of the ending of your poem. It seemed to suggest to me that someone is trying to hold on to a feeling that will not last, but is on the decline (pining paradise). On the other hand, perhaps pining is part of paradise. I have to ponder the nature of affection and how it waxes and wanes. Hope you are well...sending smiles of course.

Dearest Empress, Again you swept me away with sensual imagery and genuine longing. Your great at the way you blend nature’s colors, scents, and textures with emotion for it is breathtaking. I wish I’d written “kiss me like the sun after crimson rain”-it’s unforgettable. I’ll remember this poem for its lush, immersive world. Your voice is truly radiant here. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Breathtaking. Your words dance between sunrise and longing, rich with golden hues and floral whispers. There's a cadence to your phrasing that feels like a melody. An ebb and flow of devotion, passion, and the quiet ache of timeless love. Your poem is a symphony.

What exquisite beauty! Your poetry is descriptive, dear Ink. It pertains to love, intimacy, and the sensory feelings associated with deep emotional bonds. The topic covers issues of yearning, fidelity, and the aesthetic appeal inherent in love relationships. The visual elicits sensations of warmth, beauty, and euphoria, indicating a deep connection between couples, while also examining the relationship between nature and human emotions. The poem's language is rich and descriptive, often using nature-related imagery (e.g., "sonnets of morning," "hazel rose," "citrus warmth") that amplifies the romantic and tranquil ambiance. The use of sensory language makes emotions tangible—phrases such as "blushing warmth," "mellifluous meadows," and "sage and sandalwood" evoke vivid imagery and feelings. Good luck with the contest and warm waves to you.

I like to think of poetry as flower petals, but not those that wither. As with Kimpt's 'Kiss,' that remains a master's work of art, great poetry should be thought of as the petals of forget-me-nots... long remembered. Reflections of that poet's lines... as are yours, Ink.
