The Jack O Lantern King and I
The jack-o-lantern king invited me to dance.
I’m a black cat, I said. I can do a fancy prance.
We took the dance floor by storm, the king and I.
We were two spinning fools as others stood by.
Guests were pointing and laughing in a mean way.
I think I shall go he said; I persuaded him to stay.
They poked fun of us. Maybe because we were unusual partners, us two?
Later I discovered a stream of pink kitty cat toilet paper on my left shoe.
